Season 2 of the Taikonauts, the trailblazer event of the Taiko platform is underway. The second season started on September 17 2024 and will end on December 16, 2024. 6 million Taiko tokens are set aside as rewards for Season 2. Out of this, 5 million were kept aside for participants, and 1 million was set aside for dApps.
Unlike Season 1, Taikonauts Trailblazers Season 2 has some key changes. The maximum experience point (XP) is 1000. However, participants will no longer get points for bridging any tokens into the Taiko ecosystem.
Point Categories
Point categories refer to three categories where you can earn points. They are mentioned below.
- Transaction – All transactions will earn you XP depending on the gas fee you spend on them.
- Transaction Value – Various transactions conducted on the Taiko platform can also earn you points based on the value being exchanged. The transaction value is the same as that used in the first season.
- Proposed Blocks – Participants maintaining the core infrastructure will also earn points for proposing new blocks.
With the points you earn, you can reach different levels on the Taiko platform.

How to Engage with the Taiko Platform?
Consistent, strategic engagement with the Taiko platform is essential for winning the Taiko coins during the Trailblazers Season 2 event.
- Activities: There are a variety of activities on the Taiko platform like bridging, transaction volumes, and proposing blocks. Regular participation in these activities will help you get more points and increase your earnings in the Trailblazers event.
- Special Events: Special events are time-bound and offer one-time bonuses.
- Factions and Movements: There are many factions and two movements, Based or Boosted, on the Taiko platform. You should collect all the available factions, and choose a movement to get XP and rewards.
- Ranking System: The ranking levels were mentioned in the previous section. You will be rewarded ranks based on your engagement and dedication to the Taiko platform.
- Faction Badges: As mentioned before, you should collect all the faction badges to multiply your XP and earn unique benefits.
- Developer call: DApp developers are invited to the Taiko platform and their contributions will also be rewarded.
Faction Badges
There are eight distinct factions in the Taiko platform. They are Ravers, Robots, Bouncers, Masters, Monks, Drummers, Androids and Shinto. Each of these factions has badges associated with it.
The badges are in the form of NFTs. You can collect them to show your commitment and dedication to the platform.
You have to collect these badges within the stipulated time. The badges are available only till the trial window for the concerned badge is open. In short, these badges are rare items that have a high demand.
If you miss acquiring them during the Trailblazer event, you will have to purchase them from the NFT marketplace, which can be an expensive affair.
Utility and Rewards Associated with Faction Badges
The faction badges have immense utility and present an opportunity to make the most out of the Taiko Trailblazers program. By winning each badge, your XP points will be multiplied.
With each faction badge, your score for bridging assets will be multiplied at a rate of 1.1x, and if you hold every faction badge you get a 2.14x overall boost.
However, the total multiplier that you can avail with the purchase of the NFTs during the Trailblazer event is capped at 3x.
