RuneScape 3

RuneScape 3 is a sequel of RuneScape, a fantasy massive multiplayer online role-playing game developed and published by Jagex and launched in January 2001. This browser game was developed with the Java programming language, and it was replaced by a standalone C++ client in 2016.

The game holds some of the same trappings as games such as World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy ⅪⅤ, like combat and quests. The majority of the game should be played alone. The non-combat activities eat up an enormous amount of the player’s play time.

The game’s mobile version was announced on July 17, 2017, and launched after four years in 2021. The game is available on all iOS and Android devices. This version offers cross-platform features. This typically means players can play the game through diverse platforms.

RuneScape: Gameplay

The game starts in a secluded area called Tutorial Island. There, the players will be presented with a tutorial; here, the players will learn the most basic skills. As per the recent updates, the Main starting area is Burthorpe. After this, players granted with the tutors and advisors would be located in the towns they explore. Advisors are there to give the right information about the players’ respective skills. Players will be migrated to the town of Lumbridge. The main cities displayed in the game are Falador, Varrock, Ardounge, and some other small settlements.

RuneScape 3 Gameplay

The game would be mostly individualistic as the goals and objectives differ from person to person. They are given the opportunity to train their in-game skills and engage non-player character monsters and other players. Players can interact with their fellow players through chatting, participating in mini-games, or even through trading.

RuneScape: Characters

The characters on the minimap are marked with colored dots concerning their relationship with the players. There are two sets of characters: player characters and non-player characters. The colors and relation are given in the table below:

Color Relation
White No affiliation to the player
Blue The player would be on the same team in an activity or else wear the same Team cape as the player
Green Player on the player’s friends list
Orange The player’s same Clan chat
Purple Players’ same friend chat

The above-given set of players comes under playable characters, and the non-playable characters can be attacked while others can’t; these types of characters are known as monsters. Another type of player is aggressive, characterized by the power to attack players in their combat level, which is twice that of a monster or less. In case players can’t attack, they are termed as NPCs. As per the players’ interest, the characters’ looks can be changed.

RuneScape: World Map

The World map interface is just a large scrolling map that features the entire surface of Gielinor. Players would explore different cities, towns, islands, mountains, kingdoms, caves, lakes, rivers, dungeons, and other countless geographic features. Access to the map is derived by clicking on the ‘World Map’ button located next to the Minimap. Note that this can’t be viewed during combat or other certain activities.
