In 2013, Balaji Srinivasan joined the renowned venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz as one of its general partners. While in the firm he seemed to have impressed the venture capitalist Ben Horowitz with his concept which he called idea maze.
2013 also was the time when he co-founded the Bitcoin mining startup named 21 Inc (formally known by the name 21e6).
The company was however not successful and it had to change its business plan and convert it into a company named Earn.com which facilitated its user’s replies to emails to earn cryptocurrency as a reward.
In between his time running Earn.com Balaji also became the co-founder of another project named Teleport, which worked as a job search engine.

Following the same path Earn.com was also acquired in April 2018 by the digital asset exchange platform Coinbase.
Coinbase integrated Earn.com into their platform and it became known as Coinbase Earn and Sreenivasan Balaji was appointed as the first CTO of Coinbase.
Balaji Sreenivasan worked in the company till 2019 after which he resigned and subsequently Coinbase Earn platform was shut down in December 2019.
